Exercise 24a

*I have subscribed to Google Reader and subscribed to some of my classmates' webblogs that are currently available.

*Our lesson in Hour 24 includes studying about RSS. RSS stands for Rich Site Summary and is a format that delivers changing web content. RSS solves the problem for people who check out certain websites frequently by placing all of these sites in one area.It allows them to stay informed by retrieving the latest content from these sites without having to visit each site individually.

I like this format because all I have to do is bookmark one area and still get updated on all of my favorites sites in one convenient location. I would definitely use it because of the easy access it allows me to my favorite sites.

*Right now, I signed up with the World blog and Goolge News to update myself with world events. It gives me an update on current events without being too overwhelming. My Time and Business Week magazines already keep me busy enough in addition to the other things I am presently involved in.

*Another part of this lesson involves learning about CMS or Content Management Systems. CMS is a software that keeps track of every piece of content on your web site like those found in your web blogs, corporate or personal websites and social networking sites. It's like a library that keeps track of all the content in your website and enables you to build your sites with powerful online applications. Drupal and Joomla offers CMS and they are open source or free.

I will definitely use this system when I eventually start designing websites especially if they involve e-commerce applications.
