This is an excerpt you can find at most book sellers: "Every day Christine wakes up not knowing where she is. Her memories disappear every time she falls asleep. Her husband, Ben, is a stranger to her, and he's obligated to explain their life together on a daily basis--all the result of a mysterious accident that made Christine an amnesiac. With the encouragement of her doctor, Christine starts a journal to help jog her memory every day. One morning, she opens it and sees that she's written three unexpected and terrifying words: "Don't trust Ben." Suddenly everything her husband has told her falls under suspicion. What kind of accident caused her condition? Who can she trust? Why is Ben lying to her? And, for the reader: Can Christine’s story be trusted?"
Okay!Very interesting! However, may I point out that this review has spoilers so if you have not read the book, stop reading right now!
I really found the first part interesting and I could not help but be swayed by the sweetness of the husband! Sigh! He is so much in love with his wife that he diligently took care of her during this medical fiasco! On the other hand, missy here does not remember a single thing about him and is very unloving with the way she deals with her devoted husband. Then she starts remembering excerpts of her life which includes a son, a friend and another man! Then the whole truth unravels in the end and explains everything. Our main character is actually married to another man and she is a freelance writer with a son. Poor, poor missy is sooooo overwhelmed with taking care of her son that she has her friend babysit him while she supposedly writes. And what does she do? She is so upset with life as a mother that she embarks on an adulterous relationship while her poor husband works and her friend takes care of her son for free when she is supposed to be writing! Seriously? You only have one son, you are a freelance writer with no deadlines, you don't have to commute to a paid babysitter because you have to work, you have a highly successful husband who works and pays the bills, a friend who babysits for free and you screw around? Anyway, after indulging in this extra marital affair because she is so stressed with her taking care of her son, she eventually decides that her husband is better than her lover. So she says adios to lover boy and plans a romantic vacation with her hubby minus that son of hers (We would not want sonny boy destroying her romantic get-away. Oh no! The horrors!) So loverboy trounces the little b_tch. Unfortunately, she did not die but develops amnesia instead! Distraught , the husband leaves her so loverboy pretends to be the husband and takes care of her for 22 years! Fast forward to the end- she finds out the truth , there's a violent scuttle resulting on loverboy's death, he dies and she reconciles with her husband and son. True, loverboy reminds me of Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction but he was so sweet to the girl all this time that I was upset on what happened to him. I guess it's better than jail time.
